On the 5th at the Tokyo Dome in Japan, the World Baseball Classic (WBC) group stage Group C game between Korea and the Czech Republic was held.

Korea started So Hyoung-jun, and the Czech Republic sent Daniel Padysak as the starting pitcher.

Korea, which reached the semifinals in 2006 and finished runner-up in 2009, has since failed to reach the quarterfinal knockout stage in all three tournaments (2013, 2017, 2023). In this tournament, it seeks to reach the final-round knockout stage for the first time in 17 years.
