The funeral mass and farewell ceremony for the late Ahn Sung-ki were solemnly held at Myeongdong Cathedral in Seoul on the 9th.
Ahn Sung-ki died at age 74 at 9 a.m. on the 5th in the intensive care unit at Soonchunhyang University Hospital in Yongsan-gu, Seoul, with his family at his side as he was receiving treatment. It was six days after he collapsed at home on the 30th with food stuck in his throat and was taken to a hospital, where he had been treated in an unconscious state.
In the farewell ceremony, the final agency head of the deceased, Jung Woosung of Artist Company, and Lee Jung-jae each carried the portrait and the decoration to see the deceased off. The pallbearers were Sul Kyung-gu, Park Cheol-min, Yoo Ji-tae, Park Hae-il, Cho Woo-jin, and Ju Jihoon.
