The funeral Mass and farewell ceremony for the late Ahn Sung-ki were solemnly held at Myeongdong Cathedral in Seoul on the 9th.
Ahn Sung-ki died at age 74 at 9 a.m. on the 5th in the intensive care unit at Soonchunhyang University Hospital in Yongsan-gu, Seoul, with his family at his side during treatment. It was six days after he collapsed at home on the 30th with food stuck in his throat, was taken to a hospital, and received treatment in an unconscious state.
At the farewell ceremony, Jung Woosung and Lee Jung-jae, the heads of his final agency Artist Company, carried the portrait and the Order of Cultural Merit to send him off. The pallbearers were Sul Kyung-gu, Park Cheol-min, Yoo Ji-tae, Park Hae-il, Cho Woo-jin, and Ju Jihoon.
