The funeral mass and farewell ceremony for the late Ahn Sung-ki were solemnly held on the 9th at Myeongdong Cathedral in Seoul.
Ahn Sung-ki died at age 74 on the 5th at 9 a.m. at the ICU of Soonchunhyang University Hospital in Yongsan-gu, Seoul, with his family by his side as he was receiving treatment. It was six days after he collapsed at home on the 30th with food stuck in his throat, was transported to the hospital, and had been treated while unconscious.
At the farewell ceremony, Jung Woosung and Lee Jung-jae, heads of the deceased's last agency, Artist Company, carried the portrait and the decoration, respectively, sending him off. The pallbearers were Sul Kyung-gu, Park Cheol-min, Yoo Ji-tae, Park Hae-il, Cho Woo-jin, and Ju Jihoon.
