The funeral Mass and farewell ceremony for the late Ahn Sung-ki were solemnly held at Myeongdong Cathedral in Seoul on the 9th.
Ahn Sung-ki died at age 74 on the 5th at 9 a.m. in the intensive care unit at Soonchunhyang University Hospital in Yongsan District, Seoul, while receiving treatment with his family at his side. It was six days after he collapsed at home on the 30th with food stuck in his throat and was taken to a hospital, where he was treated in an unconscious state.
At the farewell ceremony, Jung Woosung and Lee Jung-jae, heads of Artist Company, the deceased's last agency, each carried the portrait and the decoration to see him off. The pallbearers were Sul Kyung-gu, Park Cheol-min, Yoo Ji-tae, Park Hae-il, Cho Woo-jin and Ju Jihoon.
