The funeral Mass and farewell ceremony for the late Ahn Sung-ki were solemnly held at Myeongdong Cathedral in Seoul on the 9th.
Ahn Sung-ki died at age 74 on the 5th at 9 a.m. while receiving treatment in the intensive care unit at Soonchunhyang University Hospital in Yongsan-gu, Seoul, with his family at his side. It was six days after he was taken to the hospital and treated in an unconscious state following a collapse at home on the 30th of last month when food became lodged in his throat.
At the farewell ceremony, the heads of Artist Company, his final agency, Jung Woosung and Lee Jung-jae, each carried the portrait and the decoration to see him off. The pallbearers were Sul Kyung-gu, Park Cheol-min, Yoo Ji-tae, Park Hae-il, Jo Woo-jin, and Ju Jihoon.
