The funeral mass and farewell ceremony for the late Ahn Sung-ki were solemnly held at Myeongdong Cathedral in Seoul on the 9th.
Ahn Sung-ki died at age 74 at 9 a.m. on the 5th at the intensive care unit of Soonchunhyang University Hospital in Yongsan-gu, Seoul, while receiving treatment as his family looked on. It was six days after he collapsed at home on the 30th with food stuck in his throat and was transported to a hospital, where he was treated in an unconscious state.
At the farewell ceremony, Jung Woosung and Lee Jung-jae, heads of the deceased's last agency, Artist Company, each carried the portrait and the decoration to see him off. The pallbearers were Sul Kyung-gu, Park Cheol-min, Yoo Ji-tae, Park Hae-il, Cho Woo-jin and Ju Jihoon.
