Samsung Electronics Service said on the 15th that it obtained certification for the Information Security and Personal Information Protection Management System (ISMS-P), the first in the electronics product service industry.
ISMS-P is an integrated certification system for information security and personal information protection overseen by the Ministry of Science and ICT and the Personal Information Protection Commission. It grants certification after reviewing a total of 101 items, including corporations' information security management systems, system security, and protection measures at each stage of personal information processing.
Samsung Electronics Service first obtained Information Security Management System (ISMS) certification in 2021 for six systems, including its website and chatbot. In 2024, it expanded the scope to include sign language counseling and its recruitment site, and this year received ISMS-P certification with the addition of the personal information protection domain.
Samsung Electronics Service is conducting related training for all employees to strengthen its information security framework. It also regularly carries out simulated drills assuming malicious emails and security inspections of service centers.
A Samsung Electronics Service official said, "Obtaining ISMS-P certification is meaningful in that it expanded the scope of certification to the personal information domain," adding, "We will continue to make efforts so customers can use Samsung Electronics products with confidence."
