The 2026 Green Hydrogen Global Forum is hosted by the Ministry of Climate, Energy and Environment and Jeju Special Self-Governing Province, and will discuss energy transition measures such as artificial intelligence (AI)-based renewable energy innovation and green hydrogen cooperation.

At this event, Samsung Electronics will exhibit the high-efficiency heat pump-based heating and cooling solution "EHS All-in-One" and the heating solution "EHS Heat Pump Boiler." The EHS heat pump uses ambient air heat and electricity to supply indoor heating and cooling and hot water.

EHS All-in-One provides cooling, floor heating, and domestic hot water with a single outdoor unit. It also features "heat recovery," which recycles waste heat generated during cooling to produce hot water. It uses R32 refrigerant, which has a global warming potential (GWP) about 68% lower than the conventional R410A refrigerant.

The EHS Heat Pump Boiler uses ambient air heat and electricity to supply heating and hot water. Under a 35-degree outlet water condition, it recorded a seasonal coefficient of performance (SCOP) of 4.9, delivering about five times the heating energy efficiency relative to power consumption, Samsung Electronics said.

With high-efficiency refrigerant compression technology, it can supply high-temperature water up to 70 degrees even at minus 15 degrees, and it is designed to enable heating even at minus 25 degrees. The outdoor unit uses an electric heater and anti-freeze valves to prevent pipe freezing in winter.

Both products can be linked with the SmartThings app to check indoor temperature and outlet water temperature and can be controlled remotely from outside.

Samsung Electronics is expanding the domestic deployment base by newly establishing a production line for EHS Heat Pump Boilers at the Gwangju plant. EHS All-in-One is undergoing demonstrations at single-family homes in Jeju and at the Samsung C&T Residential Research Center in Yongin, Gyeonggi.

Park Jeong-mi, vice president and head of Korea business at Samsung Electronics, said, "Based on high-efficiency heating and cooling solutions, we will enhance energy efficiency in residential environments and actively contribute to the electrification of heating and cooling in Korea."
