LG CNS received a plaque of appreciation from the local National Tax Agency in recognition of its contribution to building and stabilizing Indonesia's next-generation taxes administration system.
LG CNS said on the 14th that at a plaque presentation ceremony held on the 11th (local time) at the National Tax Agency in Jakarta, Indonesia, it was recognized for the successful buildout of Coretax and for continued technical and operational support. The event was attended by Vice President Kim Hong-geun, head of LG CNS's Digital Business Division, Bimo Wijayanto, commissioner general of Indonesia's National Tax Agency, and Iwan Djuniardi, special adviser to the Minister of Finance.
Coretax is the next-generation taxes administration system pursued by the National Tax Agency under Indonesia's Ministry of Finance. It integrates dispersed tasks—from taxpayer registration to filing, payment, refunds, tax audits, and collections—into a single platform, making it a national key project to shift tax administration to a digital foundation. Based on this, the Indonesian government is working to improve tax administration efficiency, enhance taxpayer convenience, and build a data-driven tax administration framework.
LG CNS formed a consortium with Austrian IT corporations Qualysoft and completed system buildout in Dec. 2024. Since then, through March this year, it has supported system operation and stabilization in cooperation with the National Tax Agency. Since April, when the agency began taking charge of operations, LG CNS has been responsible for maintenance of core infrastructure, including databases.
According to the Ministry of Finance and the National Tax Agency of Indonesia, taxes revenue in the first half of this year was 1,035.7 trillion rupiah (about 79.1 trillion won), up about 24.6% from the same period a year earlier. Revenue increased in major items such as corporate income tax, personal income tax, and value-added taxes. The National Tax Agency said that, along with the recovery of economic activity, strengthened taxes administration through Coretax and improved taxpayer compliance helped support the revenue increase.
LG CNS is discussing an advancement project with the National Tax Agency to integrate artificial intelligence (AI) technology into Coretax. It plans to further improve tax administration efficiency and taxpayer services through AI-powered task automation and data analytics.
Vice President Kim Hong-geun, head of LG CNS's Digital Business Division, said, "This plaque of appreciation recognizes not only the buildout of Coretax but also our close collaboration with the National Tax Agency to ensure stable operations," adding, "We will continue to collaborate to contribute to Indonesia's digital government innovation, leveraging our accumulated digital transformation capabilities and AI technology."
