LG Electronics has been selected as the official TV and home appliance partner of the Emmy Awards, the most prestigious awards ceremony in the U.S. television industry.
LG Electronics said on the 14th (local time) that it has been selected as the official TV and home appliance partner of the 78th Emmy Awards, to be held at the Peacock Theater in Los Angeles. The company noted that, building on its ongoing partnership with the Academy of Television Arts and Sciences, it is expanding cooperation beyond premium TVs to home appliances to showcase the differentiated value of the premium LG Signature (LG SIGNATURE) line alongside its OLED TV technology.
Launched in 1949 and marking its 78th year, the Emmys are the most prestigious U.S. awards in broadcasting, honoring outstanding works, actors, and production staff in the American TV and broadcasting industry each year. Following last year, LG Electronics will again serve as an official partner of the Emmys this year, carrying out a range of activities linked to the ceremony—such as product experiences and on-site content production—to showcase LG Electronics' premium technology and design to U.S. customers and content industry insiders.
In particular, LG Electronics will set up an "LG Signature Influencer Lounge (LG SIGNATURE Influencer Lounge)" near the Peacock Theater in Los Angeles, where the ceremony will take place, and exhibit premium TV products including LG OLED evo AI, as well as the "LG Signature Essence White refrigerator" and "LG Signature Styler." It will also produce behind-the-scenes content capturing the real-time appearances of ceremony attendees such as actors and creators alongside the premium products.
LG Electronics will also place dedicated banners on its proprietary smart TV platform webOS and its ad-supported free streaming (FAST; Free Ad-supported Streaming TV) service LG Channels so U.S. customers can more conveniently enjoy Emmy-related content during the Emmys season. Customers using LG Electronics' smart TVs can find past Emmy-winning titles and this year's nominees in one place, including SNL Vault, The Walking Dead Universe, Law & Order, The Price is Right, and Family Feud.
In 2021, LG Electronics received the Technology and Engineering Emmy Award for its OLED TV. Given to innovators that make groundbreaking contributions to broadcast technology and viewing environments, LG OLED TVs earned particularly high marks for color reproduction and expression.
