Gen.G defeated Hanwha Life Insurance eSports to reach the top of League of Legends Champions Korea (LCK). The team achieved back-to-back titles for the second straight year, marking its seventh championship overall.
On the 13th at KSPO Dome in Songpa District, Seoul, Gen.G beat Hanwha Life Insurance 3-1 in the best-of-five in the 2026 LCK final.
Hanwha Life Insurance struck first. After a tight contest in set 1, it won big in a fight in front of Baron and took the opener.
But Gen.G flipped the momentum starting in set 2. After the mid game, it leveraged team coordination in fights to blunt Hanwha Life Insurance's offense, and Ruler Park Jae-hyeok and Kiin Kim Ki-in picked up kills in succession to level the series.
The turning point came in set 3. Exploiting a delay in Hanwha Life Insurance's collapse in, Ruler recorded a triple kill, giving Gen.G control.
In the ensuing dragon fight, Gen.G widened the damage gap around Ruler and wiped out Hanwha Life Insurance to seize the initiative. Gen.G destroyed the opponent's Nexus in 26 minutes to go up 2-1 in the series.
In set 4, Hanwha Life Insurance took an early edge around mid lane, but Gen.G again showed its strength in team fights.
At 17 minutes in a bottom-lane fight, Kiin overturned a disadvantage to secure two kills, and then Ruler's Corki poured out damage to break Hanwha Life Insurance's formation.
Around 26 minutes, Gen.G pushed into Hanwha Life Insurance's base and destroyed the Nexus to clinch the title.
With this victory, Gen.G won its second straight LCK title and reached the top for the seventh time in team history.
In addition, the team will compete as the LCK's No. 1 seed at the League of Legends World Championship (Worlds) in the United States next month to challenge for the world title.
