KT will work with global fabless semiconductor AMlogic to build a stable supply chain for core chipsets used in media devices.
KT said on the 13th (local time) that it signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) with AMlogic at IBC 2026, the world's largest media trade show being held at RAI Amsterdam in the Netherlands, to establish a stable supply system for core chipsets used in media devices.
AMlogic is a global fabless semiconductor corporations headquartered in Mountain View, California. KT and AMlogic have worked together in the media field and also jointly took part in developing the world's first 8K Android TV set-top box.
Under the agreement, the two sides will cooperate to ensure the smooth supply of core chipsets used in KT Group's media devices and will continue to seek ways to improve supply chain operation efficiency. KT plans to respond to risks in the global semiconductor supply chain and secure the stability and continuity of its media services.
In addition to supplying stable system-on-chip (SoC) solutions, the two sides will continue technological cooperation to advance the artificial intelligence (AI) functions and services of KT's media devices.
At IBC 2026, KT will also operate the KT Global Shared Growth Pavilion with partners in the media sector. The KT Global Shared Growth Pavilion is a co-prosperity program that has been run since 2013 to help partners overcome growth limits in the domestic market and support their entry into global markets.
This year, it was selected for the Ministry of SMEs and Startups' program to support joint overseas entries by large and small businesses, and jointly built the pavilion with the Ministry of SMEs and Startups (MSS) and the Large & Small Business, Agriculture and Fisheries Cooperation Foundation. The KOTRA Amsterdam office will also support the discovery of potential buyers and business matching during the exhibition period.
Eight companies, including Marcsis, Ohsung Electronics, ENERZAi, Castis, LunarT, Filer, Steelcut, and XL8AI, participated in the IBC 2026 KT Global Shared Growth Pavilion. These corporations will showcase 8K Android TV set-top boxes, voice-recognition remotes, On-device AI agents, OTT and FAST platforms, AI video editing and content analysis, deepfake detection, and media-specialized captioning solutions.
Following IBC 2026, KT will operate the KT Global Shared Growth Pavilion with five partners at ECOC 2026, an optical communications exhibition to be held in Spain from the 21st to the 23rd.
At ECOC 2026, NWC, JCcom, Wooriro, Huiraphotonics, and Soltech Infonet will participate to showcase fire monitoring systems; optical communication components for AI, data centers, FTTH, and PON; SPADs for quantum key distribution; optical communication components; and industrial optical communication network solutions.
By jointly participating in IBC and ECOC, KT plans to support partners in showcasing their technologies and products at global exhibitions and meeting overseas buyers directly, while also helping them translate those efforts into actual export results.
Last year, KT participated in three major overseas exhibitions—IBC, MWC, and ECOC—with 18 partners and achieved export contracts worth more than 1.8 billion won.
Kwon Hye-jin, head of KT SCM (senior vice president), said, "Through this MOU with a global chipset company, we expect to secure supply chain competitiveness for media device chipsets and support partners' stable businesses," adding, "Based on cooperation with government agencies, we will continue to develop a public-private partnership model that enables large corporations and small and midsize enterprises to enter and grow in overseas markets together."
