Samsung Electronics will begin recruiting participating classes for the second semester of the Galaxy AI Class, a hands-on program to learn AI with Galaxy devices, starting on the 14th. The target is upper-grade elementary school students and middle school students nationwide.
Homeroom teachers can apply directly on Samsung.com for their classes, and Samsung Electronics will finalize the participating classes after coordinating details with the homeroom teachers, such as class schedules and preferred subjects.
Launched in earnest in the first semester of 2025, Galaxy AI Class operates every semester, with lead and assistant instructors visiting the applying classes to run the program using Galaxy smartphones and tablets. In particular, starting in the second semester of this year, the program curriculum will be revamped so the next generation can build basic competencies to correctly understand and use AI.
First, a new first-period subject, AI fundamentals, will be introduced to cultivate basic AI application skills. Through the AI fundamentals class, students will learn the basic concepts of AI, AI ethics, and how to use AI through theory and practice, and they can learn how to use AI responsibly.
The second-period Galaxy AI practice class will also be updated. Among the existing subjects, career exploration and drawing will remain, while video, photo, and self-management will be changed to subjects focused on creative experiential activities that can broaden students' horizons, such as environment, history, and travel. Participating classes can choose one of the five subjects and join the second-period class to learn how to connect AI with their areas of interest. For example, classes that choose the "career exploration" subject can use AI to explore their strengths and interests and create a vision board, while in the "environment" class, they can explore environmental issues and flesh out ideas for a sustainable future.
Kim Seo-yun, a fourth-grader at Hongje Elementary School in Seoul, said, "I learned that AI not only answers questions but also produces results based on what I think and helps with making judgments," adding, "I want to try using AI to solve problems like the climate crisis going forward."
Choi Ji-hyun, a teacher at the Hanyang University College of Education Affiliated Middle School, said, "It is important for students to learn proper usage of AI along with the ethical aspects," and noted, "The process of moving from understanding the content to actual application was a big help for learning."

Meanwhile, from 2025 through the first semester of this year, a cumulative total of about 175,000 students completed Galaxy AI Class, and about 1,000 schools participated in the program. Based on the satisfaction survey for the first semester of 2026, student satisfaction was 94.5% and teacher satisfaction was 99.8%.
Samsung Electronics plans to educate an additional 70,000 or so students in the second semester, providing more than 250,000 students over two years with the opportunity to experience AI firsthand.
