Samsung Electronics Service said on the 10th that starting on the 17th it will pilot "cashless service centers" at 16 centers nationwide.
At cashless service centers, digital payments such as credit and debit cards, app cards, Samsung Pay, and bank transfers are encouraged. According to Samsung Electronics Service, the share of cash used for consumables purchases or repair payments at service centers this year is under 5% and is decreasing every year.
Samsung Electronics Service expects that, as cash payments decline, it can reduce expense settlement tasks and also shorten customer wait times. After gathering customer feedback during the pilot, it plans to expand cashless service centers nationwide.
It is also expanding the issuance of e-receipts. Samsung Electronics Service signed a business agreement with the Korea Environmental Industry & Technology Institute (KEITI) for the "carbon neutrality points program" and is issuing e-receipts to the mobile phone number registered when a service request is made. Over the past two years, e-receipts accounted for more than 70% of all receipts issued. Customers can also check the e-receipts they received on the Samsung Electronics Service website.
Samsung Electronics Service also operates "single smartphone display repair," which replaces only the faulty parts. Instead of replacing the entire display, it replaces only the necessary parts to reduce repair costs and waste.
