Amazon Web Services (AWS) said on the 9th that it will run a four-week "AWS Space Accelerator: Korea 2026" to support domestic space and satellite startups in partnership with the Korea AeroSpace Administration (KASA) and Megazone Cloud.
The AWS Space Accelerator launched in 2021. It supports the building and scaling of space startups based on cloud technology in places including the United States, Australia, India, and Japan.
This Korea program targets domestic startups active in key sectors of the space industry. Eligible areas include satellite manufacturing and operations, Earth observation, launch vehicles, in-orbit services, space communications, AI in the space field, and space software. Domestic startups from the early stage to the Pre-Series B stage that plan to develop space systems on AWS can apply. Selected startups will receive up to $100,000 (about 134 million won) in cloud credits, access to the AWS Global Space Accelerator alumni network, and opportunities for consolidation with venture capital and corporate customers.
The Korea AeroSpace Administration will identify promising domestic space startups, and Megazone Cloud will support program operations and strengthen technical capabilities through one-on-one technical mentoring.
