LG CNS said on the 9th that it will push a proof of concept (PoC) to apply an artificial intelligence (AI) agent to the checkup operations of the Chaum Health Screening Center together with Chaum and Cha Healthcare.

LG CNS will develop an AI agent specialized in the full scope of screening operations, from analysis of screening history and personalized test recommendations to drafting results and post-checkup guidance, and Chaum will apply it at actual screening sites to verify work efficiency and usability.

The Chaum Health Screening Center designs different screening items for each customer based on past screening history, consultation records, and primary physician recommendations. To identify the history of a single customer, nurses have had to search across multiple systems, including CRM (customer relationship management) and EMR (electronic medical records). They have also handled consultation record drafting, follow-up care, and scheduling manually.

An LG CNS official said, "We plan to develop an AI agent to be deployed in the screening process to reduce nurses' repetitive tasks of data lookup and record drafting and to help them focus on customer consultation and health management."

The AI agent gathers and analyzes customer screening histories and result sheets, consultation records, and follow-up schedules scattered across the CRM system and EMR, and provides information needed for screening operations based on that. The AI agent analyzes past screening results and medical staff recommendations and presents the necessary tests along with the reasons. It also creates materials that explain why tests are needed.

AI is also applied to the stage of delivering screening results, compiling test results and assessment opinions and supporting the drafting of result sheets. AI supports automating pre- and post-screening guidance as well. The AI agent creates a checklist of precautions tailored to each person before screening, and after screening, manages schedules for retests and follow-ups at 3-, 6-, and 9-month intervals. It also offers guidance for connecting patients with findings to outpatient care and for revisit programs.

Given that foreign customers account for about 30% at the Chaum Health Screening Center, it is also considering applying AI interpretation and translation for foreign customers. It plans to use AI-based interpretation and translation in the process of explaining screening results and conducting consultations to lower language barriers and improve customer convenience.

LG CNS made a strategic investment in January in the CHA Bio Group, building a cooperative relationship. Starting with this collaboration, it plans to secure an AI agent model specialized in health screening consultations to flesh out its AI-based health screening business and to expand application to institutions such as the CHA Hospital screening center.

Kim Jae-hwa, Chaum director, said, "This collaboration with LG CNS and Cha Healthcare will add cutting-edge AI technology to the top-level personalized medical services that Chaum has pursued, creating an opportunity to raise the quality of customer care," adding, "We will successfully establish an AI-based intelligent screening system at Chaum and present a new standard for premium health screenings."

Bae Min, executive vice president of LG CNS's finance and public projects division, said, "LG CNS has turned AI into something used every day, not something merely 'shown,' across multiple industries such as finance and manufacturing," adding, "We will apply the AI transformation (AX) capabilities we have built up to medical sites to drive innovation in screening services and improve operational efficiency."
