LG Uplus released the smart home product "Homecam Lite" on the 8th, aimed at homecam beginners. With a three-year contract, it costs 5,500 won per month and bundles a homecam, 20GB of cloud storage, and insurance covering fire and video hacking damages.
The new device "Momca Lite" supports QHD image quality and detects people, pets, movement, and sound to send real-time alerts to users. It also has a feature that tracks and records the detected target. Up to four camera feeds can be viewed simultaneously, and with an SD card, 24-hour continuous recording is possible.
To strengthen security, it is equipped with a security chip based on physical unclonable function (PUF) technology that creates a unique encryption key for each device. Two-step login authentication and video data encryption are also applied. Subscribers can be compensated up to 50 million won in the event of a fire and up to 2 million won for video hacking damages.
Homecam Lite can be subscribed to regardless of the user's carrier. For installation, customers can choose between a home manager visit and activation by parcel delivery.
