Hancom is moving to target the AI transformation (AX) market based on Neural Processing Unit (NPU) technology.
Hancom said on the 8th that it signed a three-way memorandum of understanding (MOU) with its affiliate Hancom Innostream and FuriosaAI for cooperation in the AX business.
Through this agreement, Hancom will jointly develop an AX appliance for proof of concept (PoC) based on Agentic OS with FuriosaAI and push for commercialization. It will also pursue technical cooperation and joint validation to optimize Agentic OS for the NPU environment.
Hancom plans to use this to improve AI agent inference performance, power efficiency and stability. It will commercialize an on-premises AX appliance package targeting corporations and public institutions and prepare plans to expand the market.
As an authorized training center (ATC) for FuriosaAI's NPU, Hancom Innostream will oversee the planning, marketing, recruitment and operation of the curriculum, and it will also build and run a permanent training center. It will establish curriculum road maps by job function at various levels.
FuriosaAI will provide the latest NPU technical standards and software stack needed for training and practice. It will also co-develop the road map and curriculum for the authorized training program with Hancom Innostream. It will handle specialized technical support and secure the credibility of the certificates and licenses issued to instructors and trainees who complete the program.
The three companies will also pursue joint marketing and business development for the B2B and public sectors. Hancom Innostream will share with FuriosaAI the demand for NPU adoption identified through the training courses, and FuriosaAI will connect business opportunities from customers and partner companies with training and consulting needs to Hancom Innostream. Hancom will expand this into an Agentic OS-based AX business to secure new demand in the corporate and public markets.
In addition, upon signing the agreement, the three companies will operate a working council made up of working-level officials. The council will coordinate detailed execution plans such as joint development and commercialization of AX appliances.
Kim Yeon-su, CEO of Hancom, said, "This agreement will serve as an opportunity to enhance the competitiveness of the AX business by combining Hancom's Agentic OS with FuriosaAI's NPU technology," adding, "Based on close cooperation that spans AI talent development, technology validation and commercialization, we will support the AX transformation of corporations and public institutions and accelerate our push into the market."
