Samsung said on the 7th it will hold open recruitment for new employees in the second half of 2026.
Nineteen affiliates will take part in this recruitment, including Samsung Electronics, Samsung C&T, Samsung Biologics, Samsung Bioepis, Samsung Life Insurance, Samsung Display, Samsung SDI, Samsung Electro-Mechanics, Samsung SDS, Samsung Fire & Marine Insurance, Samsung Card, Samsung Securities, Samsung Heavy Industries, Samsung E&A, Hotel Shilla, Cheil Worldwide, S-1, Samsung Medical Center, and Samsung Welstory.
Applicants can submit applications to the company they wish to join through Samsung's recruitment website "Samsung Careers" from the 8th to the 15th.
The hiring process will proceed in the following order: a job suitability evaluation in September, the Samsung Aptitude Test (GSAT) in Oct., interviews in Nov., and a health checkup. The software (SW) track will take a hands-on SW competency test instead of the GSAT. The design track will be selected through a design portfolio review without the GSAT.
Samsung introduced the nation's first open recruitment for new employees in 1957 and has maintained the system for 70 years through this year. According to Samsung, among Korea's four major business groups, it is the only one that still runs a regular open recruitment system.
Separately from open recruitment, Samsung also runs a youth talent development program. "Samsung Youth SW·AI Academy (SSAFY)" recently expanded its training pool from college graduates to Meister high school graduates and revamped the curriculum to focus on artificial intelligence (AI). Since 2019, about 9,400 SSAFY graduates have found jobs at roughly 2,600 corporations in Korea and abroad.
Samsung is also continuing to hire skilled workers. From 2007 through last year, Samsung Electronics, Samsung Electro-Mechanics, and Samsung Display granted special recruitment to about 1,600 winners of the National Skills Competition.
