The work collaboration platform Line Works from Naver Cloud will be supplied on a large scale for the first time to a local government in Taiwan. In Korea, the product is offered under the name Naver Works.
Naver Cloud said on the 7th that Line Works has been adopted as the official collaboration tool of Hsinchu City in Taiwan. It is the first major partnership signed with a Taiwanese administrative agency, and it has laid the groundwork to expand its Taiwan business based on its public sector and corporations market experience in Japan.
Hsinchu City is a science and technology hub densely populated with major semiconductor and information technology (IT) corporations, including TSMC, the world's largest foundry (semiconductor contract manufacturing) corporation. Hsinchu City adopted Line Works on a large scale to build a Smart City and advance AI-based administrative innovation. The two sides will jointly research AI and digital applications to be used in administrative work and will also carry out pilot projects and proof-of-concept studies.
Within about 10 months of its official entry into Taiwan, Line Works secured more than 150 corporations and institutions and over 10,000 users. Naver Cloud plans to use the Hsinchu City introduction as a springboard to target other local governments and public institutions in Taiwan.
Line Works has held the No. 1 market share for eight consecutive years since 2017 in Japan's business collaboration tool market. Naver Cloud plans to strengthen its public software as a service (SaaS) business, building on selection as Korea's pan-government collaboration platform and entry into the public markets of Japan and Taiwan.
