JBL, a brand under Samsung Electronics' audio subsidiary Harman, said on the 7th it released the Bluetooth speaker "JBL Xtreme 5," which strengthens sound performance and design.
JBL Xtreme 5 improves its acoustic design to render the bass range 10% deeper than the previous model. It comes with dual tweeters and a subwoofer, boosts output, and applies an "artificial intelligence (AI) sound boost" technology that reduces audio distortion even at high volume.
An AI-based "smart EQ mode" is also newly added. It automatically optimizes sound settings to match the content being played, such as music or podcasts. The U.K. audio outlet "What Hi-Fi?" evaluated JBL Xtreme 5's resolution and sonic expression and awarded it the top rating of five stars.
On the exterior, it applies a new cover design and "ambient edge lighting" that displays a variety of colors. It supports water and dust resistance, and rubber edging on the corners improves durability against impact and drops. A stand-type base structure lets it sit stably even outdoors.
JBL Xtreme 5 launches in black and is sold on major online shopping malls, including Samsung.com.
