Samsung Electronics and LG Electronics on the 4th (local time) both won at the IFA Innovation Awards held at IFA 2026, Europe's largest home appliance and information technology (IT) trade show, the Berlin International Consumer Electronics Fair (IFA). LG Electronics was selected for one of the top honors, Best Brand of IFA 2026, while Samsung Electronics won four innovation awards in the design and home appliances institutional sector.
The IFA Innovation Awards is a global awards program newly established by IFA last year. An independent international jury evaluates technology and features, design, innovativeness, and market impact. This year, more than 530 products were submitted. The three overall top honors are Best of IFA, Best of Tech, and Best Brand.
LG Electronics was selected as Best Brand in recognition of its overall performance across various product lines and its continuous innovation. LG Signature OLED W (W6) won the grand prize in the home entertainment institutional sector, and the home audio system LG Sound Suite AI won the grand prize in the audio institutional sector.
LG Signature OLED W features an ultra-slim design that adheres to the wall with a thickness of about 9 mm and applies wireless transmission technology. Its Hyper Radiant Color technology enhances color expression. LG Sound Suite AI supports Dolby Atmos FlexConnect, which automatically identifies speaker positions in a room to create immersive sound.
In addition, five products were awarded excellence prizes: the 2026 LG OLED evo AI G6, LG Micro RGB TV, LG Mini RGB TV, the portable screen LG StanbyME 2 Max, and the Bluetooth speaker LG XBOOM Stage 501. Among LG Electronics products, a total of seven won awards, including two grand prizes by institutional sector.
Samsung Electronics received a total of four awards: one Winner, the top innovation award in the design institutional sector, one Honoree, and two innovation awards in the home appliances institutional sector. Among them, the Bespoke AI WindFree Combo Pro Wall-Mount air conditioner won both the top innovation award in the design institutional sector and an innovation award in the home appliances institutional sector, taking two crowns.
The product features a flat front and places micro-perforations for the WindFree function at the bottom, designed so the appliance blends with interior spaces. It also applies AI Motion Wind, which uses a motion radar sensor to detect a user's location and movement and delivers seven airflow patterns. It supports the Wearable Good Sleep feature, which cools according to sleep patterns measured on a Galaxy Watch.
The Bespoke AI Family Hub refrigerator won an innovation award in the design institutional sector. It features a 32-inch display, Voice ID that distinguishes users' voices, and Now Brief, which provides personalized information. Its AI Vision, which recognizes grocery in-and-out via internal cameras, combines Google's generative artificial intelligence (AI) model Gemini to expand the range of recognizable ingredients.
The Bespoke AI Hybrid 4-Door Kitchen Fit Max refrigerator was selected for an innovation award in the home appliances institutional sector. It is designed so the doors can open fully with just 4 mm of space on each side. It also features AI Hybrid Cooling, which normally cools with a compressor but activates a Peltier semiconductor element together when the doors are opened frequently or when loading many groceries.
