Kakao Entertainment said on the 4th that it will release the new webtoon "Crocodile" on KakaoPage on the 5th.
Produced by People & Story, "Crocodile" is a classic noir webtoon that tells the story of protagonist Jeong In-hu, who served 10 years for murder and, after being released, becomes entangled again with the family of the man he killed. After release, Jeong dreams of a quiet life, but receives an unexpected request from the dead man's wife to protect her son. Against an unchangeable relationship between a perpetrator and a victim's family, a story of revenge, atonement and the meaning of life branches out in unpredictable directions.
Writer MEEN, who has built a singular presence in action noir, handles the script, and writer Choi Gyu-seok, widely recognized for outstanding expressive power and artistry, is in charge of the art. MEEN serialized works sharing a single universe, including the "Dokgo" series, which logged about 180 million cumulative views on KakaoPage, as well as "Tong" and "Blood Rain." Choi won the Bucheon Comics Grand Prize for "Awl." Teaming with director Yeon Sang-ho, Choi presented works such as "Hellbound" and "Revelation," earning recognition for both artistry and popularity.
A Kakao Entertainment official said, "The tight plotting and rapid pace characteristic of writer MEEN, who relentlessly drives the characters forward, combine with the dense artwork of Choi Gyu-seok, who captures every facial expression and gesture, to create taut suspense," adding, "Powerful action, tension between characters and vivid spatiality come together to deliver immersion like watching a crime film."
