SOOP will establish a new headquarters in Pangyo, Seongnam, Gyeonggi, 20 years after launching its service.
SOOP disclosed on the 4th that it decided to purchase the land and building of GB2-C, located at 25, Pangyoro 256beon-gil, Bundang-gu, Seongnam, Gyeonggi, for 131.5 billion won.
The balance payment date is on the 30th of this month. The acquisition funds will be raised through its own capital and loans from financial institutions.
This is the first time in about 20 years since starting its live streaming service in 2005 that SOOP has established an integrated work base. According to SOOP, as its services and business areas have recently expanded, its current management, technology, and business organizations and affiliates are working across multiple business sites. The plan is to bring key organizations together in one place to strengthen collaboration and improve work efficiency.
The new headquarters is planned to serve as both the head office and an R&D center. The workspaces of the management, technology, and business organizations and major affiliates will be relocated in stages. Starting in the fourth quarter of this year, the goal is to complete the reorganization of bases by the first quarter of 2028.
A SOOP official said, "Securing this new headquarters is a mid- to long-term investment to enhance collaboration among organizations and respond more nimbly to a changing business environment," adding, "We will proceed with the move-in and organizational relocation stably to increase consolidation among organizations and further strengthen our capabilities for technological innovation and business growth."
