LG Electronics will unveil an "actioning artificial intelligence (AI)" home that reads users' daily patterns and performs needed functions first at IFA 2026, Europe's largest home appliance and information technology (IT) trade show held in Berlin. It will also debut "ThinQ Claw," an actioning AI agent (assistant) built into the next-generation AI home hub "ThinQ ON," for the first time. By linking AI appliances, the home hub, and an energy management system, the company broadened the role AI plays in the home.
LG Electronics said on the 3rd it will take part in IFA 2026 at Messe Berlin from the 4th to the 8th (local time). Under the theme "Innovation in tune with you," it will set up a space of about 3,745 square meters (about 1,133 pyeong) and unveil more than 150 core products.
The booth will feature solutions linking the AI home hub "LG ThinQ ON" and the platform "LG ThinQ"; "Fit & Max" appliances that enhance space and energy efficiency; a media gallery centered on LG OLED evo AI; and the premium lineup "LG Signature." About 46% of the total area is arranged as a consultation zone exclusively for business-to-business (B2B) customers. It is the largest such space the company has ever run at IFA.
◇ "ThinQ Claw" that reads daily patterns and acts first… expansion of Europe-specific appliances
The "AI Home" zone recreates real residential settings such as a living room, kitchen, bedroom, bathroom, and outdoor area. It shows how products and services move according to users' situations in each space.
In the living room, ThinQ ON pre-adjusts temperature and air quality by considering the time of arrival and usual habits. In the kitchen, it recommends menus and cooking orders based on ingredients on hand, family schedules, and eating habits. In the bedroom, it controls the air conditioner and lighting to match the next day's schedule and sleep environment, while the Bath Air solution in the bathroom handles ventilation and dehumidification after a shower.
LG Electronics will also debut "ThinQ Claw," which strengthens autonomous agent capabilities. Built into ThinQ ON, this technology converses with users, understands daily patterns and situations, and then proposes and performs needed tasks first. Appliances can be controlled from outside the home via chat, and it links with external services such as web search and a calendar.
The application scope has been expanded from homes to commercial facilities. The B2B integrated management solution "LG ThinQ Pro" manages appliances, heating, ventilation and air conditioning (HVAC), and energy equipment on a single system for buildings and offices.
LG Electronics will also showcase a home energy management system (HEMS) using "Homey" from Athom, a smart home platform company it acquired in 2024. Homey is a platform that can connect and control more than 50,000 Internet of Things (IoT) devices, including appliances, lighting, and sensors. This exhibition will demonstrate integrated management of the home's entire energy flow by linking AI appliances, HVAC, solar power, and an energy storage system (ESS). The company plans to use this as a B2B solution for European multi-family housing builders and others.
The company also expanded its "Fit & Max" lineup aimed at the European market. It combines a "Fit" design that sits flush with surrounding space like a built-in with "Max" technologies that boost capacity, convenience, and efficiency. The range has been broadened from existing refrigerators to washers, dryers, and dishwashers, and this is the first time the expanded lineup will be unveiled in one place.
For refrigerators, the company applied a "zero-clearance hinge" and a "slim door" so the door can open up to 110 degrees even when flush with wall cabinetry. For dishwashers, it added a "sliding hinge door" that reduces interference with the lower panel during opening and closing. Laundry appliances maintain Europe's standard cabinet depth of 600 mm while securing capacity. The company will also roll out the vertically stacked "WashTower" washer-dryer and the "WashCombo," which combines both functions in a single product.
Key AI features include "AI SenseClean," which analyzes the amount of dishes and soil level to suggest a cycle; "1-hour Wash & Dry," which completes washing and drying in one hour; "AI Wash" and "AI Dry," which recommend operating modes suited to fabric types; "AI Fresh," which optimizes cooling operation according to usage patterns; and "AI Saving Mode," which adjusts power consumption.
A separate zone highlights energy efficiency. It features products that cut usage an additional 70% for washers, 30% for dishwashers, and 35% for refrigerators compared with Europe's top A rating standard. A new dryer lineup to be launched locally at the end of the year improves efficiency from the current B rating to A, and the company will apply the top rating to all new dishwashers except some entry-level models.
◇ From OLED and Micro RGB to "LG CLOiD"
The media entertainment zone is arranged like a gallery centered on the 83-inch wireless wallpaper TV "LG Signature OLED W," with screens of various sizes. Key products include the 2026 OLED TV "LG OLED evo AI," "Micro RGB evo," and an UltraGear gaming monitor that supports both FHD resolution and an ultra-high 1,000 Hz refresh rate. The company also prepared an experience space for content based on the proprietary smart TV platform webOS, "StanbyME 2 Max," and the home audio system "Sound Suite." The company said the UltraGear model is the world's first to combine both specifications.
In the LG Signature zone, the company will demonstrate a voice recognition feature that understands users' everyday speech and suggests the appropriate refrigeration mode. The 30-inch wall oven supports "Gourmet AI," which identifies ingredients with an internal camera and recommends a cooking method suited to the food type.
At the entrance, the company will install the "LG AI Orchestra" conducted by the home robot "LG CLOiD." On a kinetic LED structure 16 meters wide and 4 meters tall, the company's flagship appliances, robot components, and CLOiD will appear in sequence. The presentation will then introduce features of home appliances, TVs, and HVAC products in time with the robot's conducting. It will go on to depict the future vision of a "Zero Labor Home," which links products, spaces, and services to reduce housework, through media art, lighting, and music.
Baek Seung-tae, head of the HS Business Division (executive vice president) at LG Electronics, said, "With a more convenient and expanded AI home ecosystem—AI appliances, an AI home hub, and an AI home platform—we will cement our leadership in the global premium appliance market."
