Lotte Innovate said on the 3rd that it won the contract to operate the Ansan data center commissioned by IGIS Asset Management.
The Ansan data center will be built with two underground floors and nine aboveground floors, with a power capacity of 40 megawatts (MW). In February, Lotte Innovate signed a design-build-operate (DBO) contract for an edge data center with IGIS Asset Management, and with this award expanded the scope of collaboration to the operation of a large data center.
Lotte Innovate directly builds and operates a total of four data centers in Seoul, Yongin, and Daejeon. It also provides colocation services that manage clients' servers and IT equipment in stable power, cooling, and security environments.
It is also using its own data centers as infrastructure for AI technology research and validation. It is supporting the Ajou University Industry-Academic Cooperation Foundation consortium's "thermal management technology development for carbon neutrality in data centers" project and is securing the technology and service capabilities needed for high-density AI infrastructure.
It is also expanding its external data center business. In Dec. last year, it won the contract to operate the Cam Square data center, and in Feb. this year it secured the edge data center DBO contract from IGIS Asset Management. With this Ansan data center award, it has expanded its business scope to large data centers.
Lotte Innovate plans to expand its DBO and operation portfolio from edge data centers to AI and hyperscale data centers. It will enhance an end-to-end business system that links IT equipment procurement, design and construction, and operation services, and strengthen related technologies such as high-efficiency air-conditioning and cooling solutions.
