Samsung SDS said on the 3rd that it hosted "RX ART (Robotics Transformation Advancing Robotics Together) 2026" in Mountain View, California, for two days from on the 31st to on the 1st.
Executives and leaders in charge of robots from key Samsung affiliates attended the event to share cases of robot use on industrial sites and technology verification results, and to discuss collaboration plans and joint tasks among affiliates.
Samsung SDS pre-verified robot use cases it discovered with affiliates together with global physical AI corporations such as Walden Robotics and RoboForce. Going beyond simple tech demonstrations, it secured AI training data based on real industrial-site challenges and specified the feasibility of robot adoption and optimal application plans.
At the manufacturing sites of Samsung Electro-Mechanics and SEMES, the company verified the feasibility of automating manual processes such as parts transport and consumables replacement by using general-purpose robots from Walden Robotics. For the shipbuilding and plant sites of Samsung Heavy Industries and Samsung E&A, where there are many unstructured tasks and strong external environmental impacts, it applied RoboForce's physical AI-based robot labor technology.
In the manufacturing and equipment environment of Samsung Display, where highly precise work is required, it combined a precise manipulation AI technology from robot startup G to confirm the feasibility of automating complex and delicate processes.
Samsung SDS plans to transition the technologies verified at this event into on-site demonstrations at Samsung affiliates and expand verified robot use cases to other industrial sites.
Ahn Dae-jung, vice president in charge of Digital Factory at Samsung SDS, said, "This RX ART was a venue where Samsung affiliates with different manufacturing sites experienced technologies together and shared on-site concerns," adding, "We will expand strategic cooperation with global physical AI robot corporations and actively support the promotion of manufacturing RX at Samsung affiliates."
