Artificial intelligence (AI) infrastructure corporations VESSL AI said on the 3rd it signed a supply contract with SK Biopharmaceuticals for 128 Nvidia B200 graphics processing units (GPUs). VESSL AI will use this contract as a starting point to expand its business into the pharmaceutical and biotech sectors.
Under the contract, VESSL AI has provided SK Biopharmaceuticals with B200s across 16 nodes, totaling 128 GPUs, via its GPU cloud platform "VESSL Cloud," starting in August.
SK Biopharmaceuticals plans to use the GPU infrastructure for research and development (R&D) that leverages compound and drug information, as well as for pretraining foundation models based on medical data.
Through this contract, VESSL AI will extend its customer base—previously centered on AI corporations and research institutions—into the pharmaceutical and biotech industries. The plan is to meet high-performance computing demand specialized for biotech, including compound structure search and drug information analysis.
VESSL Cloud is a GPU cloud service that helps corporations and research institutions flexibly use high-performance GPU resources needed for training and inference of AI models without building separate infrastructure themselves. Based on a neocloud model that consolidation-connects GPUs secured across multiple global data centers to match each customer's workload characteristics, VESSL AI supports efficient resource use and operations.
