U.S. semiconductor corporations Broadcom topped 40 trillion won in quarterly revenue on rising demand for AI Semiconductor chips. AI Semiconductor chip sales more than tripled from a year earlier.
Broadcom said on the 2nd (local time) that revenue for the third quarter of fiscal 2026 (May–July) rose 86% from a year earlier to $29.591 billion (about 40.24 trillion won).
Net income was $13.088 billion (about 17.8 trillion won), up 216% from $4.14 billion in the same period last year. Adjusted earnings per share (EPS) came in at $3.32.
The AI Semiconductor business drove the results growth. Third-quarter AI Semiconductor revenue was $16.7 billion (about 22.71 trillion won), up 221% from a year earlier and 54% from the previous quarter.
Broadcom supplies custom chips (ASICs) that support large tech corporations such as Google in developing in-house AI accelerators, as well as networking products for AI data centers. As big tech expands investment in AI infrastructure, demand for related chips is also rising rapidly.
Broadcom Chief Executive Officer Hock Tan said, "Demand for custom AI accelerators and networking products remains very strong," adding, "This growth momentum will continue in the fourth quarter."
By institutional sector, semiconductor solutions revenue was $20.839 billion, up 127% from a year earlier. It accounted for 70% of total revenue. Infrastructure software revenue was $8.752 billion, up 29%.
Broadcom projected that AI Semiconductor revenue will continue to grow in the fourth quarter. The fourth-quarter AI Semiconductor revenue outlook is $21.7 billion, up 236% from a year earlier.
Total fourth-quarter revenue is expected to be about $34.8 billion, a 93% increase from a year earlier. Broadcom forecast its fourth-quarter adjusted operating margin at about 66% of revenue.
