Qualcomm said on the 1st that it hosted "Qualcomm Dragonwing IoT Day" for major domestic customers and partners at The Grand Lotte Seoul in Seoul on the 31st. The event, organized to share the latest technologies and real-world applications in industrial AI and the Internet of Things (IoT) and to strengthen domestic partnerships, was held on a larger scale than last year's "Qualcomm IoT Partner & Tech Day." About 500 people attended, including major customers and partners such as Samsung Electronics, LG Electronics, Hyundai Motor, SK Telecom, KT and LG Uplus.
The event featured technical sessions on industrial automation, Robotics, smart home and smart appliances, agentic AI, and topics including Arduino, Edge Impulse and industrial cameras. Through its own sessions, Qualcomm introduced the latest Qualcomm Linux 2.0, Qualcomm Intelligent Robotics Product SDK (QIRP SDK) and Qualcomm AI Workflow. For the partner presentations, participants included Hyundai Motor Robotics Lab as well as SST, Integrit, DITECH, Point Mobile, XSLAB Incorporation, Advantech, Innodisk, Aetina and Wiseplus, who shared growth strategies and success stories based on the ecosystem built with Qualcomm.
Qualcomm Dragonwing is Qualcomm's business-to-business (B2B) platform that encompasses industrial and embedded IoT, networking and cellular infrastructure solutions. Based on high-performance, low-power computing, On-device AI and connectivity technologies, it combines hardware, software and services to support the speed, scalability and stability required on the industrial floor, the company said.
On site, 16 demos prepared by Qualcomm and 10 partners showcased Dragonwing-based technologies and solutions, including Robotics and vision AI. Qualcomm demonstrated the "Dragonwing IQ10 Robotics Reference Design," which supports high-performance On-device AI and precise control; Arduino VENTUNO Q with IQ8; an AI media station based on the Dragonwing Q8 series; real-time object recognition on the Edge Impulse platform; and Always-On Vision.
By partner, Point Mobile unveiled an industrial RFID handheld device, while Advantech showcased industrial vision inspection, a vision-language model (VLM) and a drone control module. SST exhibited a Dragonwing-based booster robot, an AI home hub and a quadruped robot; Innodisk presented real-time VLM and technology supporting 8-channel GMSL2; and DITECH revealed industrial safety AI technologies such as a blind spot detection (BSD) and pothole detection.
In addition, Aetina presented an agentic AI solution; XSLAB Incorporation offered a live demo of Phi-4; Integrit showed LLM, vision AI and an On-device vision-language-action (VLA) demo; Namuga showcased real-time stereo depth perception technology; and Wiseplus unveiled its multichannel real-time video analytics solution "Orbit Eye."
