SK Telecom said on the 1st that it will hold a free YouTube Premium Lite subscription event to mark reaching 200,000 members for Air, a self-activated-only mobile service.
Through Feb. 28 next year, new subscribers who sign up for the unlimited data plan Air X, priced at 58,000 won per month, via the Air app or website can use YouTube Premium Lite for free for one year from the activation date. It will also provide Bonus Pack points that can be used to pay phone bills and to purchase items in the point shop.
Until December, the full monthly fee for Air X can be paid with points. SK Telecom said that after applying all benefits, the effective monthly cost of the unlimited data plan, including the YouTube subscription service, falls to the 10,000-won range. For the other five plans, up to half of the monthly fee can be paid with points during the same period. With the expanded benefits, the points customers used to pay their bills in August were more than five times higher than the previous month.
A promotion waiving the eSIM issuance fee for new subscribers also runs through the 30th of this month.
Air recently received the main award in the Brand & Communication Design category at the Red Dot Design Award 2026. It was highly rated for simplifying the lineup to essential features and six plans.
