Nexon said on the 31st it opened the fall season collaboration "MapleStory in Lotte World Busan," which uses the "MapleStory" intellectual property (IP), at Lotte World Adventure Busan.
The event will run for 86 days across Lotte World Busan through Nov. 22. Buoyed by the popularity of the spring season collaboration held from March to June at Lotte World Adventure in Jamsil, Seoul, Nexon expanded the event area to Busan.
The venue is set against the backdrop of a commotion that unfolds as a group of mushrooms crossing over through a portal made by Pink Bean takes over the "Magic Forest." It incorporates into the content and spatial production the process by which visitors become MapleStory heroes who resolve the chaos.
Participatory content linking the game and on-site experiences was also prepared. At the Garden Stage, themed after the in-game "Mushroom Castle," it runs "Create your own character." After visitors scan a QR code and choose hair and outfits, the completed character appears on the stage's digital panel. MapleStory users can also load the characters they have developed in the game. Across the park, a mobile stamp rally is held to collect gifts from Princess Violetta's garden party.
A new monster dancer appears in the new parade "MapleStory: Dance Together!" In front of the Talking Tree, a signature photo spot at Lotte World Busan, a photo time with Pink Bean is held. In addition, live performances such as "MapleStory Busking" and the "Pink Bean Greeting Band" are showcased.
Around the park, spacetime portals created by Pink Bean and "Henesys," a representative in-game region, are brought to life. Photo zones also feature a 6-meter-tall "Orange Mushroom" air balloon with bubble effects and "Garden Party" elements of Princess Violetta.
