Physical artificial intelligence (AI) corporations MakinaRocks said on the 31st it will open "AI Studio@Changwon" as a strategic base to support and find new customers in the Yeongnam region, including Changwon, Geoje, Daegu and Ulsan.
"AI Studio@Changwon" is MakinaRocks' first regional base. It was established to support major customers in Yeongnam, including Doosan Enerbility and Denso, and to attract new customers in manufacturing sectors such as automobiles, heavy industry and shipbuilding. After hiring local talent for the Changwon base, the company plans to train them at its headquarters in Seocho-gu, Seoul, before assigning them to the Changwon site.
MakinaRocks plans to start with the Changwon branch and expand its network of bases by focusing on areas dense with manufacturing sites.
Yun Seong-ho, MakinaRocks chief executive, said, "In manufacturing sites, physical distance from customers is directly tied to response speed," and added, "Through the Changwon branch, we will get closer to manufacturing customers in the Yeongnam region and, in line with the national balanced growth policy, contribute to building a regional industry AI ecosystem."
