The Ministry of Science and ICT said on the 28th that, after conducting document and presentation evaluations of six bidders (consortia) participating in the "AI for All (AI)" project call, it selected the SK Telecom consortium, the Kakao consortium, and the KT consortium as the project operators.
The ESTsoft, MKD, and Genon consortia were eliminated.
The Ministry of Science and ICT plans to support the three selected operators with 512 B200 graphics processing units (GPUs) this year and, starting next year, to support the expense needed to provide services to the entire public through the government budget.
The SKT consortium plans to develop an execution-type AI service that handles everything from planning to execution to results verification with a single request. It will enable the use of AI services not only via applications (apps) and the web but also by phone and text, and provide conversation and search quality tailored to domestic administrative and local living contexts. It will also introduce specialized services closely tied to daily life, including health and finance.
The Kakao consortium plans to offer a service that integrates a general-purpose chatbot and AI agents, using the messenger that people use every day as the entry point. Together with LG Uplus, it will release a Lite version of a general-purpose phone AI service within the year and expand it in stages. It will also provide life-cycle-specific services such as senior care and tax.
The KT consortium plans to develop an AI service that provides integrated support within a single conversation flow, from information search and comparison/judgment to the execution and management of public and specialized services. It will place AI entry points not only along the user paths for search, news, and content on the Daum portal and app but also on partner channels such as DANAWA, Musinsa, and ZIGBANG CO., naturally linking search demand to an AI chatbot. In addition, by linking KT communication channels and media (such as IPTV) with Everyone's AI, it will enable users to start using AI from any everyday channel.
The Ministry of Science and ICT plans to sign agreements with the three operators next month and, after a beta service, officially launch the Everyone's AI service within the year. To that end, it will immediately form a working-level consultative body with the selected operators while also holding consultations with relevant ministries for public data linkage and other matters.
