Kakao Entertainment said on the 28th that it held the "5th Webtoon Feedback Day" on the 26th at its Pangyo office in Seongnam, Gyeonggi Province, for aspiring webtoon creators.
Webtoon Feedback Day is a one-on-one feedback program where aspiring creators review their work with Kakao Entertainment's in-house webtoon producers. It provides concrete opinions not only on the work's concept, characters, and story structure, but also on market competitiveness and future development direction.
Eligible participants were university students in industry-academic programs with Kakao Entertainment, aspiring webtoon authors, and rookie authors within one year of debut. This year's event drew a total of 24 teams and 28 aspiring creators. After group onboarding and networking, participants met one-on-one with in-house producers to review their individual works.
Since first holding Webtoon Feedback Day in 2023, Kakao Entertainment has hosted the event five times over about three years. To date, 113 teams and 120 aspiring creators have participated. Since last year, it has operated the event twice a year to expand the discovery and support of new creators.
The program has also produced authors who signed actual serialization contracts. So far, five authors have signed with Kakao Entertainment. ▲ Author Jeong Eon's "Our Shitty Selves" and "Do You Have a Dog You Like?" ▲ Author Geum Dae's "Heart Trigger Off" ▲ Author Kimu's "Infirmary Bed Free-for-All," among others, were discovered through Webtoon Feedback Day.
