IT outsourcing (ITO) specialist Hongik Science and Technology said on the 27th that it signed a strategic business agreement (MOU) with Vietnamese software development corporation TMA on the 13th.
TMA, a Vietnamese software development corporation founded in 1997, employs about 4,500 staff. It is engaged in software development in global markets including the United States, Australia, Japan, Singapore, and Europe.
Since 2022, Hongik Science and Technology has worked with TMA to help Korean corporations tap Vietnamese development talent. It has taken on the role of connecting Korean client companies with TMA's developers and supporting project execution, building up four years of collaboration cases.
Accordingly, the two sides decided to advance their partnership and form a more solid strategic cooperation. Under the agreement, they will cooperate on IT project development and operations in both Korea and Vietnam based on a mutual understanding of strategies and business needs.
TMA will provide technical personnel to Hongik Science and Technology and client companies through dedicated teams or project-based models, and will also work together to identify and train developers from vulnerable groups in Vietnam, including young people and women.
The signing ceremony was attended by Lee Seung-man, CEO of Hongik Science and Technology, and Le Nguyen, chair of TMA, as signatories. Also present were three professors from Gachon University and one professor from Sunchon National University who joined the Ho Chi Minh business tour, along with six heads of corporations.
Kim Jeong-yoon, a professor at Gachon University, said, "This strategic MOU signing was a meaningful milestone marking a leap forward in the partnership between Hongik Science and Technology and TMA that has been built on trust over the past four years," adding, "It was very meaningful to confirm on the ground that a platform has been established for Korean corporations to utilize Vietnam's outstanding development talent and technological capabilities more stably and strategically."
Meanwhile, TMA plans to expand from its existing IT outsourcing business into AI-based solutions, grounded in its newly established "AI First, AI POD, AI SDLC" strategy this year.
