ASML Korea, the Korean unit of ASML, the world's largest lithography equipment maker, will hire new and experienced employees in the triple digits in the second half of this year. The goal is to expand staff for equipment installation, maintenance, and technical support as domestic semiconductor production facilities grow.
ASML Korea said on the 27th it will hold an open recruitment for new hires from the 1st to the 8th of next month and expand experienced hiring, focusing on core engineering roles. Hiring will take place at ASML Korea's major business sites in Hwaseong, Pyeongtaek, and Icheon in Gyeonggi Province and Cheongju in North Chungcheong Province. As of the second quarter of this year, Korea accounts for 43% of ASML's global equipment sales.
Entry-level roles include customer support (CS) engineer positions for candidates with a bachelor's degree in science or engineering, and technical support engineer (TSE) and field application engineer (FAE) positions for those with a master's degree or higher.
CS engineers are divided into field service engineers (FSE), who support equipment at client semiconductor production sites, and UIR (Upgrade, Install and Relocation) engineers, who handle equipment installation, upgrades, and transfer. Depending on the role, interviews include a presentation (PT) and role-playing.
Experienced hiring will focus on engineering roles such as UIR, FSE, TSE, and FAE. ASML Korea plans to broaden the scope of experienced recruiting to include talent who have built technical expertise and on-site experience not only in the semiconductor industry but also in other advanced technology and engineering fields.
ASML Korea has been steadily expanding its technical workforce as demand for lithography equipment installation, maintenance, and upgrades increases with the expansion of domestic semiconductor production facilities. In February, it opened the "Global Training Center Korea" at its Hwaseong campus in Gyeonggi Province, equipped with deep ultraviolet (DUV) and extreme ultraviolet (EUV) lithography tools, modules, and cleanrooms, and is training CS engineers there.
