Apple is expected to unveil a new lineup of hardware, including a foldable iPhone, on the 9th of next month (local time).
Greg Joswiak, Apple's senior vice president of marketing, said on the 26th on the company website, "Get ready to be surprised," and previewed the company's product launch event for the 9th of next month.
Apple is expected to present a foldable iPhone for the first time at this event.
The event will be the debut stage for new Chief Executive Officer (CEO) John Turners.
In a report released that day, market research firm IDC projected that Apple would sell more than 10 million foldable iPhones in their first year on the market. Accordingly, unlike last year when Android accounted for 88% and China's Huawei Harmony operating system (OS) took 12% in the foldable smartphone market, Apple is expected to take a 31% share this year.
Apple's new iPhone to be released this time is also expected to see a substantial price increase over existing models. While Apple recently raised prices for major product lines such as iPad and Mac computers, citing higher component costs including memory, it did not raise iPhone prices.
