NC said on the 27th that it posted 343.8 billion won in revenue in the PC game institutional sector in the second quarter of this year.
PC game institutional sector revenue surpassed the previous quarterly record high of 318.4 billion won in the first quarter and set a new record high. Cumulative first-half PC game revenue topped 660 billion won, raising the possibility of surpassing 1 trillion won in annual PC game revenue for the first time.
"AION2" and "Lineage Classic" drove first-half results. AION2 is a massively multiplayer online role-playing game (MMORPG) launched in Korea and Taiwan in Nov. last year, which propelled NC's PC game revenue growth. Thanks to the success of AION2, NC's PC game revenue in the first quarter of this year increased 210% from a year earlier.
Lineage Classic, released in Feb. this year, recorded 185.5 billion won in revenue in the second quarter alone, contributing to the highest first-half revenue in the PC institutional sector.
NC plans to expand its new lineup centered on PC games. Chief Executive Kim Taek-jin personally appeared at G-Star 2025 last year and introduced the PC MMORPG "Horizon Steel Frontiers," which uses the Horizon IP from Sony's Guerrilla Games, saying it was "the starting point of NC's new journey." NC plans to unveil more than five AAA PC titles from the second half of this year through 2030.
It will also move to tap the shooting market. According to market research firm Newzoo, shooting games ranked No. 1 by share of total playtime (28%) across PC and console platforms in 2024, reflecting a broad user base.
On the 25th, at Opening Night Live (ONL), the eve event of Gamescom 2026 held in Cologne, Germany, NC unveiled three PC games, two of which are shooters. "Cinder City," an open-world third-person shooter set in downtown Seoul and currently in development, released a new cinematic video, and the team-based survival first-person shooter (FPS) "Like or Die" also made its debut that day.
AION2 Global and Guild Wars 3, targeting the Western MMORPG market, are also set for release. In a user poll conducted in July by MeinMMO, a leading German outlet specializing in MMORPGs, NC's new title "Guild Wars 3" ranked No. 1 as the most anticipated upcoming MMORPG, while "AION2" ranked No. 3.
AION2 Global is scheduled for simultaneous release in North and South America, Europe, and Asia on Oct. 5 via PC platforms including Steam and Purple.
