Samsung Electronics has renovated the Samsung Store Cheongdam in Gangnam District, Seoul, as a store specialized in wedding household appliances. The layout was changed so newlyweds can experience appliances tailored to their living space and lifestyle and receive everything in one place, from interior consultations to product purchases to after-sales service (A/S).
Samsung Electronics said on the 25th it has set up an "interior package zone" on the third floor of the Samsung Store Cheongdam in the form of a showroom that recreates an actual newlywed home. It is designed so customers can review appliances and interior design together according to the size of the newlywed home and lifestyle.
Samsung Electronics believes the criteria for choosing wedding household appliances have recently expanded from traditional essentials like refrigerators to AI appliances that reduce housework burdens. Accordingly, it placed the "five major AI appliances" at the forefront of its wedding product lineup, including the Bespoke AI Combo washer-dryer, a robot vacuum, a Kitchen Fit refrigerator, an air conditioner, and Moving Style.
The interior package zone is divided into three options depending on the size of the living space. The 5.5-pyeong "Start Package" focuses on essential appliances, while the 11.5-pyeong "Standard Package" adds appliances for convenience. The 15-pyeong "Premium Package" takes into account not only product performance but also the harmony of design and space.
Another feature of the store revamp is selling appliances not as individual products but combined with actual living spaces. A dedicated consultation lounge is staffed with wedding appliance advisors who propose product combinations based on housing type, spatial layout, and lifestyle. When it is difficult to make major changes to a space, as with jeonse or monthly rentals, the store provides an "Interior Fit" solution that arranges furniture and appliances while minimizing damage to walls or structures.
Services after purchase are also consolidated in one space. At the Cheongdam store, customers can receive not only product consultations and purchases but also A/S. The aim is to reduce the inconvenience of having to visit different places for purchases and services.
Samsung Electronics plans to expand specialized stores targeting wedding demand, using the Cheongdam store renovation as a starting point. It will also strengthen linked sales with furniture companies such as Livart, Casamia, and Hanssem. To mark the renovation, it will run a promotion for wedding and move-in customers through Sept. 30, offering additional benefits to customers who purchase products from partner furniture companies together with Samsung Electronics appliances.
Starting with the Cheongdam store, Samsung Electronics plans to gradually expand nationwide the specialized wedding stores that combine appliance experiences with interior consultations.
