SK Telecom said on the 24th that it opened an industry-academia cooperation course with Seoul National University to train future artificial intelligence (AI) leaders.
SK Telecom will launch the "SK Telecom–Seoul National University AI joint program" for graduate students in the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering at Seoul National University in the fall semester of 2026 and run 15 weeks of lectures.
SK Telecom organized the curriculum into three areas: ▲ AI apps and services ▲ AI modeling ▲ AI infrastructure. Through this, it will share SK Telecom's core AI research achievements and commercialization cases.
Jung Jai-hun, president of SK Telecom, will open the special lecture on the 1st of next month. Jung will present to about 300 graduate and undergraduate students at Seoul National University on the theme of "Choices and opportunities in the AI era," explaining how AI technology is changing industry and society and what future of AI SKT envisions.
Subsequent lectures will feature Yu Kyung-sang, head of SKT AI CIC, Kim Tae-yoon, head of foundation models, and executives, Heads of Team, and Ph.D.-level members from SKT's AI development organization, who will share on-the-job know-how from the podium.
This year marks the 10th year of SK Telecom's AI lectures with Seoul National University.
Jung said, "It is meaningful that the industry-academia cooperation we have built with Seoul National University over many years is continuing once again through this course," adding, "We will continue to work with academia so that today's students can lead tomorrow's AI industry."
