The Korea Electronics Association (KEA) will run a Korea Pavilion at IFA 2026, Europe's largest home appliance and information technology (IT) trade show, held in Berlin. Ten domestic small and startup companies in artificial intelligence (AI), smart home, digital health, Augmented Reality (AR), and Extended Reality (XR) will take part to target the European market.
KEA said on the 24th that, with support from the Ministry of SMEs and Startups, it will set up and operate the Korea Pavilion at IFA 2026, which will be held in Berlin from Sept. 4 to 8. IFA is a consumer electronics and digital technology exhibition that began in 1924; last year, more than 1,900 corporations from 49 countries participated, and about 220,000 people from 140 countries visited.
The Korea Pavilion will be installed in IFA NEXT, which is focused on future technologies and startups. KEA has operated the IFA Korea Pavilion since 2003, and this year marks its 21st participation. This year, 10 domestic small and startup companies, including Goryeo Otron, Clair Optic, and All The Time, will operate 11 booths.
Goryeo Otron will showcase a device that mixes small amounts of liquid samples using surface acoustic waves (SAW). SAW are sound waves that travel along the surface of a material and mix samples by transmitting acoustic energy into the liquid. It can be used for bio and chemical research such as sample pretreatment, reagent dissolution, and biochemical reactions.
Clair Optic will exhibit an optical display module for AR glasses. By manufacturing a waveguide, which serves as a path for light, through plastic injection molding, it reduced weight and thickness and designed a structure suitable for mass production. It can be used not only for consumer AR and XR devices but also for remote collaboration and support for industrial operations.
All The Time will showcase a safety platform that combines AI risk prediction technology with a smart tracker and a mobile application. It analyzes user location and travel routes to identify risk factors and offers features such as route deviation detection, emergency rescue request (SOS), and theft and intrusion detection.
KMS Partner will present a mini beam projector combined with AI features, and Global Hitec Electronics will exhibit a smart sleep mat that can control cooling and heating. Daom Electronics will introduce an intelligent integrated air-care solution that purifies air without filters.
ImpactiveAI will unveil an AI-based distribution and logistics platform that manages inventory and ordering by forecasting product demand and raw material prices. Picogram will present a water purifier with easily replaceable filter cartridges, and TKK will introduce a cordless steam robot vacuum that detects floor contamination and controls steam spraying.
Ewon OMS will exhibit a "smart styling mirror" that analyzes biometric data and lifestyle patterns with AI and provides styling features and smart home device control.
KEA plans to support local publicity and business-to-business (B2B) consultations for participating corporations to pursue export contracts and memorandums of understanding (MOUs) with European buyers and partners. Vice Chairman Park Jae-young of KEA said, "Domestic small and startup companies possess strong technological competitiveness in various fields such as AI, smart home, digital health, and AR and XR," adding, "Through this IFA, we will promote innovative technologies in the global market and actively support cooperation with local buyers and partners so that it can lead to tangible outcomes in the European market."
