Google is expanding support for its artificial intelligence (AI) model "Gemini" for college and graduate students in Korea.
Google said on the 21st it will support the "Gemini student benefits" program for college and graduate students in Korea and also run the "Google student ambassador cohort 2" program.
According to Google, college students in Korea aged 18 or older who complete school email verification and register a Google account can receive the "Google AI Plus" plan, worth 11,000 won per month, for one year, or use the "Google AI Pro" plan, worth 29,000 won per month, for up to four years at a 74% discounted monthly price of 7,300 won.
The "Google AI Plus" plan includes additional access to expanded image, music, and video generation models such as the AI model Gemini and "Deep Research," Gemini notebook extensions, and 400GB of cloud storage. The "Google AI Pro" plan adds expanded access, a usage cap four times higher than standard Gemini, and 5TB of storage on top of AI Plus benefits. It also includes "Antigravity" to help developers implement applications, the latest video generation and editing feature "Gemini Omni," and the personal AI agent "Gemini Spark." In addition, coding limits for developers are greatly expanded with Google AI Studio and Google Cloud credits, along with large-capacity cloud storage.
The "Gemini student benefits" program also strengthens tailored features to improve study efficiency. Starting with a "student-only hub" that manages course materials in one place, students can also use tools such as the "study notebook" feature that assesses learning levels and supports systematic studying, the "interactive visualization tool" that shows complex concepts with 3D simulations and tables, and "Gemini Live," which supports deep research.
Google will also run the second "Google student ambassador" program, in which college students plan and execute marketing campaigns related to Gemini both online and offline. During the roughly three-week recruitment period in June, more than 2,500 students from about 210 universities nationwide applied, and a select group of about 200 ambassadors was finalized on the 6th.
Google is also collaborating with Binulabs, the operator of the platform "Everytime," to launch a "Gemini lounge" within the Everytime app, open a dedicated Gemini section, and provide an environment where students can share prompts and real-life examples, supporting AI-based productivity and capability building in daily life, academics, and research.
A Google official said, "As college and graduate students begin the fall semester, we have prepared the Gemini student benefits, ambassador activities, and various collaborative campaigns so they can further strengthen their academic and research capabilities with Gemini and enjoy a smarter campus life," adding, "We look forward to Gemini continuing to be a reliable AI partner that supports not only students' studies but also their daily lives."
