LG Uplus on the 20th unveiled AI Building Net by ixi, an integrated building management solution that combines artificial intelligence (AI) and telecom technology. It aggregates and analyzes information from sensors installed in buildings and closed-circuit (CC) TV, robots, and other Internet of Things (IoT) devices, and streamlines facility operations, safety and security, and energy management.
The first application area is senior care. The dedicated solution Wellness Note analyzes data collected from health monitoring devices with AI to track residents' daily patterns and health changes. It can quickly detect abnormal signs or emergencies and be used for personalized care. Administrators can use an app to check task assignments, completion status, and handover details, while also reducing staff record-keeping and reporting work.
LG Uplus is piloting Wellness Note at Solace Home Misa, a premium nursing home operated by Shinhan Lifecare.
AI Building Net also applies to offices, residences, and commercial facilities. By analyzing access and location information, it detects congestion, unauthorized entry, and unusual lingering, and automatically adjusts lighting and heating and cooling systems to match space usage. It can also optimize the deployment of cleaning and inspection staff and the operation of shared spaces such as meeting rooms.
LG Uplus plans to expand its AI-based space platform business by increasing the number of compatible IoT devices and external services.
