Samsung Electronics Service labor and management signed this year's wage and collective agreement and agreed to a 4.1% wage increase and an expansion of welfare programs.
According to the industry on the 18th, the Samsung Electronics Service Chapter of the Korean Metal Workers' Union signed the "2026 wage and collective agreement" with the company on the 12th at the Samsung Electronics CS Academy in Suwon, Gyeonggi Province. Labor and management agreed to raise this year's wages by 4.1%. They will also improve welfare programs by increasing childbirth-related congratulatory and condolence payments and expanding the use of long-service leave. The agreement also includes a provision to consider introducing a post-retirement reemployment system.
Labor and management held 12 rounds of intensive negotiations from the kickoff meeting on Apr. 22 through July. The two sides, through mutual agreement, wrapped up this year's wage and collective agreement relatively early. The signing ceremony was attended by Vice President and CEO Kim Young-ho of Samsung Electronics Service, Managing Director Kim Young-cheon, head of the Coexistence Team, Vice Chairperson Ko Eun-ha of the Korean Metal Workers' Union, and Chairperson Kim Ji-hoon of the Samsung Electronics Service Chapter.
Samsung Electronics Service said that, having concluded this year's talks early, labor and management plan to focus more on customer service. With demand for appliance service, including air conditioners, rising amid the recent heat wave, they also plan to cooperate on providing stable service and improving customer satisfaction.
