Six operators (consortia) have thrown their hats in the ring for Everyone's AI, a project that provides free AI chatbots and public AI agents to the public.
The Ministry of Science and ICT said on the 18th that a total of six consortia—SK Telecom, MKD, ESTsoft, Genon, Kakao, and KT—applied to join the Everyone's AI project.
SK Telecom formed a consortium with 19 organizations, including Goodoc, Nota, the Senior Support Center for the Elderly Living Alone, Liner, Selectstar, Shinhan Card, SK Broadband, Elice, Tmap Mobility, and Hana Card. It is the largest consortium among those that applied for the project.
KT will partner with 16 organizations, including Daum, Rebellions, Upstage, NC AI, and Korea Educational Broadcasting System (EBS). Kakao will work with 14 organizations, including Lunit, Seoul National University Hospital (SNUH), LG Electronics, LG Uplus, LG CNS, and Shinhan Bank, while ESTsoft will collaborate with six organizations, including Megazone, ESTaid, Polaris Office, and Korea Productivity Center.
MKD and Genon each submitted a solo proposal.
The ministry plans to select operators at the end of this month through a suitability review of submitted documents, a written evaluation (eligibility screening), and a presentation evaluation. The goal is to sign agreements, conduct a beta service, and launch the service within the year.
Everyone's AI is a government initiative aimed at reducing reliance on overseas AI services and closing the AI usage gap among the public. The goal is to establish a system that includes a general-purpose AI chatbot and public AI agents, as well as capabilities for asset management, learning coaching, and retirement planning.
