Samsung Electronics has signed an official partnership with global game developer Activision Blizzard, Inc. for the new title "Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4."
On the 18th, according to Samsung Electronics, the company participated from the development stage of "Modern Warfare 4" and optimized key gaming products—including TVs, monitors, soundbars, and Wi-Fi speakers—for gameplay. Based on the partnership, the two companies also plan to carry out joint global marketing.
"Call of Duty" is a first-person shooter (FPS) series that has continued for more than 20 years. The new Modern Warfare 4 was produced with Korea as a major setting, inspired by K-content.
Samsung Electronics and Activision Blizzard, Inc. collaborated from the early stages of development to apply "HDR10+ Gaming" and a 32:9 "Super Ultrawide" aspect ratio to the new title.
With support for the 32:9 aspect ratio, the Samsung Electronics gaming monitor "Odyssey G9" lets players enjoy the game with a wider field of view than a standard screen. HDR10+ Gaming is a technology that renders screen brightness and contrast to match each scene, improving visibility across diverse environments such as dark interiors and bright exteriors.
Ahead of the launch, Samsung Electronics will also carry out online and offline marketing. On the 21st at 9 a.m. Pacific Time, it will livestream Activision's launch event "Call of Duty: Next" through the TV and monitor gaming platform "Samsung Gaming Hub."
PC beta codes for the new title's beta test, which runs from the 21st to the 24th, will be provided to 50,000 Samsung Gaming Hub users.
At the Gamescom 2026 exhibition to be held in Cologne, Germany, from the 26th to the 30th, Samsung Electronics will set up a Modern Warfare 4 experience zone in its booth. Visitors will be able to try the new title on Samsung Electronics "Odyssey" monitors ahead of the official launch in October. During the event, a giveaway will also be held to present a total of 500 Modern Warfare 4 Vault Edition game codes to visitors.
Lee Heon, vice president of the Visual Display Business at Samsung Electronics, said, "With the picture quality of Samsung TVs and Odyssey monitors, we can introduce a higher-level 'Call of Duty' gaming experience to gamers worldwide," and added, "We will continue to expand collaboration with global game companies to strengthen our leadership in the gaming market."
Cody Neal, head of partnerships at Activision Blizzard, Inc., said, "Samsung's display and gaming technologies have enabled us to present 'Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4' in a new way."
