Rebellions said on the 18th that its "ATOM-Max card" and "ATOM-Max server" were designated as "excellent R&D innovative products" by the Ministry of Science and ICT. After a recommendation by the Ministry of Science and ICT, the Ministry of Economy and Finance's Procurement Policy Deliberation Committee made the final decision.
With the designation, public institutions can enter into direct negotiated contracts with Rebellions without competitive bidding, and the procurement period is shortened from the current 60 days to 10 days or less. Purchasing indemnity will apply to buyers, exempting them from loss liability absent intent or gross negligence.
The two products are included in the Public Procurement Service's pilot purchase program for innovative products, which operates this year at 83.9 billion won, and they can also be registered on the Public Procurement Service's "Innovation Marketplace," a mall dedicated to innovative products. The designation is valid for three years and can be extended in the first and second rounds for up to six years.
Earlier, in the Ministry of Science and ICT–National Information Society Agency (NIA) project to "convert public AI CCTVs to Korea-made NPUs," Rebellions agreed to supply ATOM-Max servers to Gyeongsangnam-do Provincial Government and Ulsan Metropolitan City and has been delivering since Aug.
Park Seong-hyeon, CEO of Rebellions, said, "With this innovative product designation, the public rollout of Korea-made NPUs will begin in earnest."
