Global AI data cloud company Snowflake said on the 18th that it appointed Lee Yong-seok as the new head of its Korea office. Lee will oversee the business in Korea and lead the expansion of the partner ecosystem and corporate clients in key industries such as manufacturing, finance, and retail.
Lee is an IT expert with more than 20 years in the enterprise software industry. After joining Google Cloud Korea in 2020, Lee spent six years leading large corporations' strategies for AI, data, security, and infrastructure-based digital transformation and market expansion. Before that, Lee worked 16 years at Microsoft Korea, handling business with small and midsize corporations and retail partners and public projects in government, education, and healthcare. In the manufacturing and retail institutional sector, Lee oversaw the organization responsible for major large corporate clients in Korea.
Lee said, "By combining Snowflake's technology with experience built across industries, we will help clients achieve the consolidation of data and AI into tangible outcomes," adding, "We will build a collaborative ecosystem where clients and partners grow together."
John Robertson, Snowflake's vice president for Asia-Pacific and Japan, said, "Lee is a leader with experience driving projects and long-term growth across diverse industries," adding, "We expect Lee to play an important role in Korean corporations' use of data and AI and in delivering business results."
